Fishing was pretty slow overall, but I was happy to land my first Clearwater River steelhead.

Nice fish! I was supposed to be up there this past weekend but all the rain blew the river out so we went to the Salmon instead. The fishing was ok...the water was cold so the fish were sluggish but we found a few.

Nomadtrout, where on the salmon did you head? A friend and I are looking and taking a long weekend and heading up toward the Salmon Challis area as the drive the Clearwater region would be a full day or more for us.

I have not steelheaded since college but really want to get after it again especially since my drifter is on it's way to completion.
