Dang, nice bunch of euros. We got them thick here, but there yuppy birds as they stay in town lol.
Still seeing tons of Mtn Qauil with little bumble bee babies some had as many as 16. I saw 2 pheasants today with 8 & 11 chicks, and 1 ruffed with 7 babies, and 2 blues with around 10 apiece. Hoping this is a sign of good things to come. Hopre the chukars are faring as well. |

| Things are looking up around here, lots of chukar chicks up the big river and quail here in the yard, might not be a bad season after all. |

Great news. I know you had a lot of moisture up there in early June as we did down here. Looking better each day. I hope the area over by Twin Falsls and east of there is doing as well. Larry |

| We need to document the numbers in Twin Falls area as it seemed the complaints that were driving the change in the partridge season mostly came from hunters in that region. |

I'd be glad to. I hunted an area over there twice last year and saw plenty of birds. Not the number of birds that I saw over in the west but I did well both days. I got a feeling they will have a pretty good year since most areas have had enough moisture to replace the cover that has been lost. Larry |

| Well this is part of the reason for all of us to participate in the Upland Surveys that we are coming out with...once we have people participating in each region the F&G commissioners can have numbers to look at instead of just listening to a few hunters. That way if we see numbers declining something can be done but if they aren't then it's a harder argument to make to change things. |

Couldn't agree more. Hey Karl, I just heard from a friend of mine who does a lot of four wheeling. He was over at one of your HUNting areas riding around. He's not a big hunter and couldn't tell if they were huns or chukars, but he said he saw at least a half dozen groups of little ones. Only saw four birds take off that didn't have little ones. I'm pretty sure by where he was that they were huns. Larry |

| I predict a banner year. I'm feeling like a little kid at christmas eve. In Central WA we have decent broods of grouse, but I haven't seen any quail or chukar chicks. |
You look like a chukar hunter, you have big thighs and a small head |

Two different broods of quail in the yard today in Eastern Or. My setter has been on point looking out the window. Really late but looking much better now. Starting to see a few chukar chicks on the Deschutes and some huns in the wheat country. Looking better. Salmon river just finally got low enough to run up through the slide in the last couple weeks , will check it out soon.

| I don't think I've ever seen so many quail and pheasants. Around my house and the surrounding cropland, there have been 3 or 4 clutches of phez with 7-8 half grown chicks per brood. Visiting some friends around emmett over the weekend, I saw a couple hundred small quail while walking about 2 miles of gravel road. Gonna take the horses for a ride into chukar land next weekend to see if they are fairing as well. I'm gettin pumped!! |

| Rumor has it that the guys down in Utah are starting to see quite a few chicks and they are optimistic for a good hatch. Nevada will probably have good recruitment as well as they share a lot of the same weather and terrain in the Great Basin Desert. I'm thinking this year is shaping up to be pretty decent. Can't wait for Sept. 1st in Montana! |

| Rpt in from friend in NW Nevada. Very good numbers of quail and more sighting of Chukar broods than last yr at about same time. Of note, he mentioned the disparity in brood ages. His rpts have been from a couple of differnet mtn ranges and other friends. |
