Sometime you half to wonder where they get their information from. There are some of us that have been writing to them to get the forest grouse season to open along with the imported birds, so what do they do, they open it up earlier ? In Sept we still see grouse chicks the size of bumble bees. sometime they can't fly, and now some idiot will shoot the hen and we will loose the whole clutch. It doesn't make any sense to me, what are they thinking.....

I agree, it's madness. Although I hunt birds and big game. I'd have to say that they way they've been changing all kinds of things lately it's like they are doing it just to let everyone know that they are still around and doing something, hence our tax dollars are being used for something and not dwindled away. I know your here, that doesn't mean you have to piss me off to get my attention.

Brent, The F&G Dept. is not supported by tax dollars from the Idaho general fund. Almost all money comes from license sales and federal excise taxes on firearms, ammo, fishing equipment, etc. There are also a few grants, etc that help pay F&G expenses.

Furthermore, the F&G Commission sets the policies and directs the F&G Dept. The Commissioners are appointed by the Governor.

Unfortunately, this present Commission is one of the worst ones ever. Commissioners are always tempted to monkey around with some regs and policies in an attempt to make it look like they're doing something. Some Commissions resist the temptation, some don't. This Commission doesn't.
